Voting Republican - Immoral and Stupid

I think the headline explains my position pretty well. And I honestly feel this way for THIS particular election. Why?
  • If you're a right wing Republican and you're that way because of the abortion issue, I ask you, do we stop caring about needless death once a person is born? We've lost nearly 3,000 men to a war not worth fighting.
  • If you're a fiscal conservative, I ask you, do you think divided government could do any worse than the Republican only one that's increased the National Debt by $4 trillion dollars?
  • If you're a tax voter, I ask you, are you concerned that Bush will allow tax increases to pass through his office without a veto? I know he hasn't used his veto yet but that's because he's had rubberstamping Republicans in Congress.
  • If you support our troops, I ask you, how can you stand by those that would send our troops into harms way without the proper armor? Without body armor? How can you support a Commander in Chief that ignores the best advice of those around him and refuses to revise even the smallest elements of his failed policy?
  • If you think 9/11 taught us a lesson and we need a strong leader to fight to keep us safe, I ask you, how has this Republican congress done with implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission?
  • If you're a Christian, I ask you, how can you vote to support a man and a party that allows torture? A man who used the horrible events of 9/11 as a political opportunity to consolidate power in the office of the President and then used that power to dirty the Bill of Rights? All the while, the Republican Congress nodding.
  • If you care about your children, I ask you, how could you vote to bring them up in the world that George W. Bush has created since 9/11. How can you give up on any hope that things can be better someday? Do you think the daily images of violence on television they see are poisoning their young minds? If we really are becoming Sparta, are you willing to toss your sons and daughters into the meat-grinder? The all volunteer Army isn't getting the bodies they need. Do you know what that means in the near future? When it's your children we're talking about, are you willing to have this man and his party lead them into battle?
  • If you're retired or will be soon, I ask you, how can you support a party who created the current system that makes it so difficult for seniors to get the care they need? A party that protected the interests of drug companies rather than looking out for the best interests of the sickest. A party with a stated goal of ending Social Security as we know it. Would you be better off having someone in power fighting for YOU against this President?
  • If you're a Southerner, I ask you, how do you feel about one of your cities being wiped off the face of the earth while our President and his staff ignored it for 3 days? FEMA was a highly thought of and effective department under Clinton. Could some oversight provided by Congress have made a difference in who was appointed to head that important department? Are the Republicans running this government effectively?
  • If you were pissed off about Clinton lying about Monica, I ask you, how do you feel about your Speaker of the House ignoring the sexual harassment of young boys by a Republican congressman? How do you feel about them putting politics ahead of morals? Seems there's a whole lot of corruption these days, no? Maybe, just maybe, we could hope for better if the government had some new faces in there. Maybe divided government will provide a few checks and balances to the arrogance we've seen in a one party system.

Send a message tomorrow.
