Do We Have Their Hearts and Minds Yet?

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The United Nations said Wednesday that 3,709 Iraqi civilians were killed in October, the highest monthly toll since the March 2003 U.S. invasion and another sign of the severity of Iraq's sectarian bloodbath.

Thank God we helped them get rid of that ruthless dictator who killed his own people! Speaking of which, the latest rumor out there is that the Iraq Study Group is planning to recommend that we release Tariq Aziz (A Baath Party Deputy to Saddam Hussein) and have him participate in the governing of Iraq. Do you think we could have come to that conclusion 3,000 US soldier deaths ago? See the rumor here.

Meanwhile, Bush is meeting with the Iraqi Prime Minister in Jordan. Yes, Jordan. Why? "The meeting between Bush and Maliki in the Jordanian capital Amman, a much safer venue than Baghdad." Get that? The situation in Iraq is so bad not even our Commander in Chief feels safe there. But he's willing to send in your sons and daughters! And John McCain thinks we should send in more troops! Line 'em up and knock 'em down, all in the name of politics, eh John?
