Progress or Not, Let's Say There Is!

I understand the left wants to point out the everyday violence in Iraq as evidence that progress isn't really being made there. Frankly, there isn't much progress as far as the average Iraqi is concerned. But, as you may know if you frequent this site, my #1 concern is the safety of our troops. The new unity government has been formed. Let's pretend they're "standing up" so we can stand down. Let's say all is well and pull our guys out to some DMZ and let the Iraqi Unity Dictators know that if they mess up, we'll blow them to bits from 30,000 feet. Tell them they better make nice because even though we aren't being seen on the streets of Baghdad, we're close enough. A frightened dictator is a good dictator.

So... I'd love to hear Bush say the mission was really accomplished this time even if it meant his poll numbers improved. Our boys coming home, that's the real victory! If it weren't for the efforts of those on the left, this war would drag on endlessly. So, the left could claim a victory as well. And if Bush leaves Iraq in some form or fashion along the lines of the Murtha plan, the Democrats should be able to use that in winning at least one house this year.

Mission Accomplished!

No matter what Bush says, we all know that very little progress is really being made, if any. But for the sake of our guys, let's let him say it. The American people don't believe him anymore anyway.
