More Troops

Interesting. For years we've been hearing that Bush gave the commanders in the field the troops they requested. But recently a dozen former generals came out and said that this claim among others simply wasn't true. We've also heard that when "they stand up, we'll stand down" and that things are moving along well over there in Iraq. Right on schedule. The insurgency is in the "last throes". Helluva job, Rummy!

Today we're sending in more troops. I wonder how this will be spun? I bet they'll say it's just a normal troop rotation thing now that the disconnect has been pointed out in the press.

Crank up the Fox News propaganda machine boys!!! We've got a whopper to cover for! Better get Cheney out there to sneer at a few reporters, make them cower. Have Bush do a "major speech" about how we've got a plan. Shit like that.

PS. I never really understood the "I give the commanders what they want" line of reasoning regardless. As Commander in Chief, you make the call! If my subordinates say they want a big raise or they want to go off on some wild tangent, I tell them they can't! Or, if I indulge them, I expect to take the heat if the shit hits the fan. But Bush blames his employees.
