The New York Times published a study of an internal staff report by the United States Embassy and the military command in Baghdad. The
report notes that of the 18 provinces in Iraq, 6 are considered in Serious or Critical condition as to security. When the provinces are sized according to population, you get the map you see to the left. As you can see, there's plenty of reason for concern and may just suggest why the press in Iraq won't provide the Bush Administration with the rosy picture they desire. Frankly, the only portion of the country considered stable is the Kurdish North and it was stable under the no fly zones before the war. In other words, for most of Iraq, conditions have gotten worse since Saddam Hussein was removed from power. I wish it wasn't but that's the ugly truth.
By the way, if you break the diagram above down, it looks like this:

When you then place the Moderate and Stable sections inside the Critical and Serious box you see clearly that there's a large majority of Iraq living in terrible security. Our incompetent President has created this problem. The buck stops with HIM.

And, as we're all perfectly aware, the entire war was based on a series of lies including this
biggie.
