Incompetence Has a Cost

From my Sunday Chicago Tribune, Page 3, we find this:

The calls went out across the nation, as Bush administration officials asked seasoned disaster response experts to consider the job of a lifetime: FEMA director.

But again and again, the response was the same: "No thanks."

Unconvinced that the administration is serious about fixing the Federal Emergency Management Agency or that there is enough time to get it done before President Bush's term ends, seven candidates for director or another top FEMA job said in interviews that they had pulled themselves out of the running.
The rest of the article can be found here. Seems nobody wants to work for or with Bush. This is the price of incompetence and with hurricane season quickly approaching, this important leadership role at FEMA remains open.

Maybe Harriet Myers is available?
