In Enemy Territory - Part 2
Well, I wasn't able to push any buttons today but I do have something to report...
In the past when I've visited Houston I've noticed the gasoline prices here seemed significantly lower than they were in Chicago. Something like 30 to 50 cents per gallon and it's been that way for a number of years. Today I noticed a gas station in the Post Oak area of Houston selling gasoline for about the same prices as I pay in suburban Chicago. It seems the reformulated gasoline requirement has hit Houston and they're in the same boat we are. As I walked from my hotel to the conference facility, I noticed a lot of people driving the BIG SUV's. Ouch, that's gotta hurt. Maybe the folks in Texas aren't as happy with the Bush economy as they were a few years ago. According to this, he's in trouble.
Anyway, I still have dinner tonight to ruffle a few feathers but we'll have to see who shows up. Most of the people in the conference are from New York, Chicago and California so I'm not getting the opportunities I'd hoped for.
