My Morning Trib

As usual, I had to dig to find the real news in my morning Chicago Tribune. On the front page you'll see stories about a milk farmer in California, a suburb of Chicago with an incompetent police department, Muslim girls basketball and a speed skater...

On page 10 there's a small story about the top presidential mistakes of all time and nothing the Bush Administration has done is mentioned in the Top Ten style list. Nothing!

On page 12 you'll see:
  • A church group in the US has issued an apology to the world for the actions of our government in Iraq. Among other things, the statement by the council of 350 mainstream Protestant, Anglican and Orthodox churches says: "We lament with special anguish the war in Iraq, launched with deception and violating global norms of justice and human rights. We acknowledge with shame abuses carried out in our name."
  • Another 20 dead (or more) in Iraq attacks
  • Muslims kill 15, targeting Christians in Nigeria riot

On page 18 there's a story about the bird flu being found in France and India...

I applaud the Chicago Tribune for its "fair and balanced" approach to the news.
