34%

A new low for the President's approval ratings. Click HERE for details.
Some select metrics and other notes:
- The President's approval rating is at an all-time low of 34%.
- Seven in 10 Americans, including 58 percent of Republicans, say they're opposed to the Bush-backed deal giving a Dubai-owned company operational control over six major U.S. ports.
- The Coast Guard expressed concerns about the ports deal!
- Lou Dobbs has something to say about the ports here.
- 2 out of 3 Americans said they do not think President Bush has responded adequately to the needs of Katrina victims.
- 51% say the President doesn't care about people like them.
- Only 30% approve of how Mr. Bush is handling the Iraq war.
- Half disapprove of how he's handling the war on terror.
- Just 18% said they had a favorable view of the Vice President.
Am I happy about this? No, I'm not happy our President is incompetent. Yes, I'm happy the nation appears to be figuring it out. Hopefully this means Congress will flip and Bush will be toothless for the remainder of his term. Unfortunately, he's done so much damage already the country may spend decades trying to recover. But maybe, just maybe, we've reached a turning-point.
