Spying on Americans
There are lots of links on the Huffington Post today so I won't waste my time cutting and pasting them here. Just click this link and read the stories there. This is really something all Americans should be concerned about and the Administration is getting killed in the papers today.
The discussion here will instead center around the comments coming from the Bush Administration on this issue. They're saying things like this:
Put quite simply, if Clinton was impeached for lying about a tryst he had in the Whitehouse, Bush deserves much worse here. He's tampered with the very fabric of what makes America the land of liberty. Over the last 4 years he's given every authoritarian dictatorship the right to point their fingers back at us when we challenge them on human rights and civil liberties. In this case, I'd say the facts are clear: The laws bind the President like any other citizen! He can't simply break the ones he doesn't like whenever he decides they're inconvenient.
Bush believes he's a king. He's not. He's nothing more than a dangerous moron.

"It is really a serious matter when we get the disclosure of a program like this because, after all, what we must do is protect, from those trying to hurt us, knowledge of how we follow them, how we follow their activities," Rice said on "Fox News Sunday."So, now, the leaking of CRIMINAL activity by Bush is an issue but the leaking of the name of a member of the CIA for political gain wasn't? Pretty damn typical of these hypocrites.
