Biggest Scandal in Congress in a Century
It appears the power-drunk Republicans are dirty beyond just Tom Delay. Story here.
With their Republican President teetering on the brink of political extinction and a "Culture of Corruption" spread widely across the Republican leadership in Congress, I'm certainly hopeful 2006 can swing at least one house back to the Democrats so we have a real check and balance back in government. Note, I'm not saying the Democrats haven't been guilty of corruption. My point is simply that the American People are better off when one party isn't in charge of everything.
I also find it interesting that the Republicans are now crying about how they're being called on their misdeeds. Maybe they should've thought about that during the Clinton Administration when they allowed a rabid independent counsel to go after the President for lying about a blowjob and accused the First Lady of corruption in the travel office of the White House. Talk about petty BS! These new accusations rise to a much higher level and I doubt the American People are going to let the Republicans whine their way out of this.
