What Happened There?

If you don't believe that IN AMERICA we would ever see one community post armed sheriffs on bridges to keep another community from leaving, I'd have said you were right until this morning. The letter is confirmed by this report from Fox News. I'm stunned.

So, for those that say race had nothing to do with it, I say the evidence doesn't support you. The towns across the bridge had water and electricity. Note also that the news report by Fox was SIX DAYS after the hurricane hit. Those folks weren't being kept there for their own safety. No way! And Bush picked the guy who was supposed to protect us, the guy who just resigned, based on his political connections. He didn't care about qualifications because he knew the odds were long that anything would ever happen to people who lived in his voting districts. He simply didn't care about ordinary working stiffs. And those local folks who enforced the imprisonment of American Citizens in that drowning city effectively condemned them to death. They're as guilty and as incompetent and as immoral as our President. I hope they all take a lesson from the resignation of the FEMA Director today and do us all the favor of doing the same. We can do better.
