Saturday Morning Quick Hits
1.) I guess this is still the USA. CNN has been successful in getting the Bush Administration to drop the ban on media coverage of the search for dead in New Orleans. At least thus far the Bush cover-up isn't being allowed but I'm not holding my breath. They've successfully hidden the casualties coming back from Iraq from the American People for years now so I doubt this court fight is over. You see, Bush doesn't like messy dead bodies getting in the way of his photo-ops that make him look like a leader. Nothing like a dose of reality to shake the confidence of the morons who elected this idiot. So, expect Rove to continue the fight to hide the truth from the American People, because, as you know, we can't handle the truth.
2.) Also from CNN this morning, a report on how Al Gore was personally involved in the rescue of nearly 300 Katrina victims. Seems he was able to do by himself something the Federal Government found itself incapable of accomplishing. Thanks Al!
3.) The Bush Administration is connecting 9/11 and Katrina now. As laughable as this seems, it's true.
"Today, America is confronting another disaster that has caused destruction and loss of life. This time the devastation resulted not from the malice of evil men, but from the fury of water and wind," Bush said. "America will overcome this ordeal, and we will be stronger for it."
The Rove action plan on any massive Bush failure seems to be to remind Americans that Bush was President during 9/11 and hope that the connection of any recent failure to this tragedy will bring up his poll numbers. Well, it isn't working very well because at this point it appears only the dumbest of the rednecks who voted for Bush don't know the difference between posturing and reality. I doubt even Karl will be able to convince Mississipi and Louisiana that this is somehow Bin Laden's fault.
4.) The Dems may have found their balls. The Dem Response to the pile of lies put out by the Bush Administration over the last week is right on the money, in my opinion.
5.) Tomorrow it will be 4 years since 9/11. Feel safer?
